20th CENTURY CATALAN COMPOSERS Collection
Catalunya is a country with a long cultural and artistic tradition from which have sprung great performers and important musical works which have crossed boundaries and achieved recognitions throughout the world. However, much of the music of the last century has yet to be discovered.
With this collections for six C.D.s, the Gremi d’Editorials de Música de Catalunya (Guild of Music Publishers of Catalunya) – with the support of the ICIC – has recorded some of the best published works in order to show the diversity of styles which co-exist today in our country. Works by composers who worked throughout the course of the 20th century, including those by some young composers who will continue to compose well into the 21st century.
This is the first of our sample of music by Catalan composers, presented in six volumes and performed by some of the best instrumentalist, who know this repertoire in depth, love it, and often perform it live in their concerts.
